Will Hellwarth

Creator, Studio Director

Will is a game designer whose passion is exploring that which seems too weird to work, but just might. As a kid his young impressionable mind was warped by the many digital worlds he inhabited and now he seeks to use this same power to help people understand complex issues that require a bit of (benevolent, allegedly) mind warping first. Things like death and social cooperation and the philosophical purpose of conflict. With a background in developing VR Journalism and teaching game development, Will is focused on experiences that take the player out of their comfort zone and show them perspectives they would not have been able to see otherwise.

Graham Parkes

Writer, Creative Director

Graham Parkes is a filmmaker, writer and game designer from Los Angeles. His short films have played at such festivals as SXSW, and have been featured sites such as Short of the Week and Vimeo Staff Picks. He has worked as a screenwriter for Paramount Pictures, Sony Screen Gems, Crypt TV, Pulse Films, Dreamscape VR and EKO, among others.   

Oliver Lewin

Game Director, Composer

Oliver Lewin is a composer, producer, and game director from Los Angeles. He studied composition at The New School’s Mannes School of Music, and more recently was a composer fellow at the Blackbird Creative Lab. His works have been recorded by Grammy Award-winning artists, and he has scored award-winning video games and films.

Bela Messex

Lead Programmer, Lead Designer

Bela Messex is an L.A. based artist, game designer, producer, and founder of Buddy System Games. Prior to his role as Lead Designer on BYE, he was the creator and lead developer of Little Bug. In addition to his work creating games, he is one of the organizers of Playdate Popup, an organization spotlighting indie and experimental games with an annual booth at the L.A. Zinefest.

Richard Beare

Lead Engineer

From the Great White North (Canada), Richard's experience emerged from a background in engineering, designing microchips and wireless devices. A hobby in game development eventually turned into his current business, offering game dev and VR/AR development services. When not hitting the gym, applying new technologies to immersive digital experiences and games keeps Richard inspired.Richard's interest in games began as a child staring through the monochrome-green tube monitor of his Dad's Apple IIc. It wasn't long before a childhood curiosity turned into a lifelong passion for computers, electronics and gaming.

Jake Sally

Producer

Jake Sally is an Emmy-nominated producer, public speaker and entertainment executive dedicated to building the pipeline, vernacular and stories grounded in technology for audiences worldwide. Jake is the COO of Jadu, an interactive augmented reality company building widely accessible musical experiences with the world’s leading artists such as Lil Nas X. Previously, he oversaw content development at RYOT, Verizon’s internal content innovation company, focused on creating future-forward content formats and storytelling techniques as 5G networks begin to be widely available to consumers. He focused on collaborations with artists and technologists to alter and improve the way stories are told with next-generation technology including VR, AR, artificial intelligence, projection mapping, physical installations, 5G and motion capture.

Dillon Terry

Audio Lead, Designer, Composer

Dillon is a game developer from Los Angeles specializing in all things audio and the implementation of sound and its systems within interactive worlds. Prior to Before Your Eyes, he's composed and done sound design for film as well as releasing music as djpuppy.

Hana Lee

Lead Artist

Hana Lee is an illustrator and game developer from Tokyo. They are a graduate of Camberwell College of Arts and have been floating around in the games scene ever since. On top of working as a lead artist on Before Your Eyes, they are also the co-founder of Humble Grove and working on No Longer Home as the co-lead developer and artist.

Brieyh’leai Simmons

3D Artist

Deep in some part of Texas, an artist named Brieyh’leai grew up and spent her days distracted by games. A generalist at heart, she spends most of her time realizing stylized concepts through 3D Art and Animation. She studied Visualization, though a lot of her time spare time was spent game jamming. She is most in her element working on games that would have made her smile growing up, and Before Your Eyes is exactly that.

 
 

Griffin Libby

Art Director

Griffin Libby is an LA-based art director, illustrator and designer. With a mixed education in classics, illustration, and new media design, he brings a holistic, research-based approach to each project. In addition to art directing Before Your Eyes, he is a creative director at Bob Industries, a commercial production company in Santa Monica, and does freelance illustration in his free time.
